JUNE 10–Jason Loftus’s film ETERNAL SPRING (長春), an animated film about a heist of the TV airwaves in China by a persecuted spiritual group, has been named the best documentary feature at the 2022 deadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City. The jury chose the film among 14 finalists playing at the 22nd annual festival. It was the film’s Oklahoma premiere.
The Oklahoman newspaper had picked ETERNAL SPRING (長春) as one of its films to watch at the festival, explaining that the documentary “merges animation and live-action” to depict “an audacious and perilous plan to hack into state television.”
Eternal Spring will next play at the historic Chinese Theater in Hollywood as part of the selection of independent films showcased at the 25th annual Dances With Films. Tickets and more, here.
