UK press praise ETERNAL SPRING in UK debut

ETERNAL SPRING is earning praise from critics during its UK premiere as one of ten official selections in the 26th Human Rights Watch Film Festival, London.

The Guardian newspaper’s Sunday edition of the Observer New Review lauded the film as “an inspired mixed-media reflection on Chinese police persecution of Falun Gong activists,” highlighting the film as one of three standouts in a lineup of “fresh, exciting” films at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival.

In a glowing, five-star review, Upcoming On Screen hailed the film as “an essential and integral watch” and “an unmissable documentary.” Read the full review here.

Animation press praised the film as well, with Skwigly calling out its “stunning animation” and Animation Magazine highlighting its use of both “insightful interviews and beautiful, animated sequences.”

Events London‘s Daniel Nelson agreed, saying ETERNAL SPRING features “a powerful combination of film footage and animation” in bringing to life “an ambitious and daring plan to hack into a Chinese TV news programme.”

ETERNAL SPRING plays from March 17-25 at the London edition of the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in partnership with the Barbican.
